Article: Meditation in Motion

Meditation in Motion

We've been taught that meditation looks a certain way: seated, still, eyes closed. But stillness is a state of mind, not position.

Sometimes, the most powerful form of meditation isn't found on a cushion. It's in walking through the woods. It's in making your morning tea and drinking it. It's in the quiet ritual of applying fragrance to your wrists.

Meditation doesn't require silence. It requires presence.

At I am, we believe in honoring the small, sacred moments. The pause between inhale and exhale. The way scent can anchor you in the now. Fragrance is memory, yes – but it's also awareness.

When you wear it intentionally, it becomes a kind of moving meditation.

So the next time you go about your day, walking, washing, watering your plants, ask yourself: Can I be fully here? Can I let this be enough?

Even one breath done with awareness is a kind of prayer. Even one step taken consciously is a kind of return.

Your scent can be part of that return. A way to ground, to soften, to remember who you are.

We call it meditation in motion. You might just call it you, fully present.

  • Take a walk without music. Listen to your footsteps.
  • Touch your pulse points gently, applying your favorite scent.
  • Whisper something kind to your legs, your shoulders, your breath.

Let your body be the temple, the teacher, and the meditation.

This is what it means to return, not just to the moment, but to yourself.
